We're here to help!

BABY WORKOUT - Jackie Wilson got the Movement started! Here he is performing it on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1965.

Picture

I'M WALKIN' - Mark played this 1957 Ricky Nelson tune in first set. Here's Ricky debuting it on The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet.

RUN RUN RUN - Mark selected the original recording of this song by The Gestures (formerly The Jesters) Set 2. Here are both versions - which do you prefer?

THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN' - Mark played this Nancy Sinatra hit in set number 3. Here she is performing it on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1966, and below that, more of the story behind the song.

Picture
DANCING IN THE STREET - Mark opened Set 4 with Martha and The Vandellas and talked about the social implication of the song as well as its obvious message. Here they are performing it on Where The Action Is in 1966.

Picture
SHAKE A TAIL FEATHER - Mark chose Ray, Jake, and Elwood for the fifth set.

25 MILES - Mark played this Edwin Starr hit in Set Six, and talked about why the songwriters on it had to share credit with others. Here's Edwin performing the song on Upbeat, followed by the song that "inspired" it. The predecessor to Mojo Mamma before it was re-named, 32 Miles From Waycross by Hoagy Lands, was scheduled for release on Bang Records, but remains in the vault.

STEPPIN' OUT - Mark played thisRaider hit in the seventh set today. Here are the Raiders performing it with Mark's LIVE vocal on Hullabaloo in 1965.

DANCING GIRL - This Dion song, featuring Mark Knopfler from Dire straits, was included in Set Eight.

A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION - Born on January 8th, 91 years ago, Elvis closed the show today. He's backed by the Wrecking Crew - and you can sure hear Hal Blaine on drums. Above: the first newspaper photo of Elvis - 1954.

THANKS to everyone who bid on Mark's memorabilia in the Julien's auction in November, and congratulations to the winners! We accidentally packed some acetates so they went to Hawaii instead of Julien's. We'll have Ryeland Allison transfer them after the holidays, so keep an eye on this website for news on their posting.
