TODAY's
"DEEP DIVE"
TIME CHANGES
Time to FALL BACK!
SYNCOPATED CLOCK / TIME AFTER TIME - Mark opened the show with a mashup of Quincy Jones and the Raiders. Below is the TIME that The Monkees visited the set of Happening '68.
IT'S LATE - The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet debuted on ABC on October 3, 1952, and over its fourteen-season run, amassed an astonishing catalog of 435 episodes. Five years into its run, Ricky Nelson sang on the show for the first time, which got him a deal on Imperial Records and launched his career as a teen idol. Mark played It's Late in the second set. More on Rick's career HERE.
TIME WON'T LET ME - Mark played this Outsiders tune in the fourth set, featuring lead vocals by Sonny Geraci.
FIVE O'CLOCK WORLD - Mark played this Vogues hit in Set Number 7.
NEWSFLASH:
Mark has moved to Hawaii, and as hinted earlier, was consigning some of his rarest memorabilia with a prestigious auction house. Julien's has put together a huge rock and roll memorabilia auction, including 69 lots from Mark.
It features many Raider acetates (with digital transfers done by Keith Allison's son Ryeland, sent to you with the physical material), stage apparel, a guitar, a flute and trumpet used on stage in the early 60s, the tambourine used on the recording of Kicks, and many other goodies, including the desk from Cielo Drive where Mark wrote the lyrics to many of the Raiders' hits and dozens of album tracks. Terry Melcher owned the desk and later gave it to his mom Doris Day, so it has an amzing provenance.
Bidding has just opened online, and culminates with a live auction in Nashville on November 20-21. Check out all 69 lots of Mark's memorabilia HERE.
