John took the Amtrak down from New York to Philly to be part of raising funds for The WFIL/WPVI Helping Hand Marathon. While there, he visited his old pal, newsman Larry Kane, and tried his hand at weather forecasting.

HIT THE ROAD JACK - Mark kicked off the Weather Man show today with, of course, The Weather Girls!
DRIP DROP - Mark played this Dion tune in the first set. Stay tuned for The Wanderer coming to Broadway!
RIDIN' THE STORM OUT - Mark selected this REO Speedwagon tune to open Set 2. Mark told the story of its inception, inspired by a near-disastrous trip to the mountains of Colorado. Fittingly, the show below was filmed in Denver.
COME IN YOU'LL GET PNEUMONIA - Mark played this 1971 Raiders' song in set number 3. Did you know that Australia's Easybeats cut it in 1967?
KENTUCKY RAIN - Mark played this Elvis song to close Set 4.
STORM WARNING - Mark chose this Northern Soul tune from the Volcanoes for Set 5.
THE RAINS CAME - Mark played this song by Doug Sahm and The Sir Douglas Quintet in Set Six.
THE WARMTH OF THE SUN - Mark played the original Beach Boys' song in the seventh set today. Below you can hear the version with backing by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Willie Nelson version, backed by The Beach Boys.
WALKIN' IN THE RAIN - Mark picked this Ronettes tune for the eighth set. It was written by Phil Spector along with Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, who, of course, were the songwriters behind Kicks and Hungry.
HERE COMES THE SUN - Mark closed the show with a performance of the Beatles' classic by Paul Simon, David Crosby, and Graham Nash, from the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concerts. In 1976, George Harrison played a duet on Saturday Night Live with host Paul Simon.
THANKS to everyone who bid on Mark's memorabilia in the Julien's auction in November, and congratulations to the winners!
