TODAY's
"DEEP DIVE"

Picture
Shark Week 2026
It's that time again when we explore the perils of the deep,
so Mark's got two hours of the best dangerous AMERICAN music for you today

Picture

Picture

ROCKAWAY BEACH - The beach has already been closed almost 2 dozen times this season because of shark sightings, so Mark HAD to kick off the show today with the Ramones.

Picture

FINS - Mark played this Jimmy Buffett favorite - about sharks both on land and in the sea - to open the first set.

Picture

DON'T FIGHT THE SEA - Mark selected this Al Jardine/Beach Boys tune for Set 2.

Picture

S-W-I-M - Mark played this Bobby Freeman tune, the follow-up to COME ON AND SWIM, to open set number 3. Both songs are below.

Picture
ALLIGATOR - Since sharks aren't the only dangerous critters in the water, Mark played this Dollyrots song in Set 4.

Picture

DON'T GO NEAR THE WATER - Mark chose this Beach Boys song for Set 5. The video was filmed in Brighton, England while they were on tour. That's Blondie Chapman on guitar, Ricky Fataar on drums, with  Dennis Wilson on keyboards due to a hand injury.

Picture

STINGRAY STOMP - Mark played this Blue Stingrays anthem in Set 6. Not usually dangerous...until they are

Picture

RIDE THE WILD SURF  -  This Jan and Dean song, from the movie of the same name about Oahu's North Shore (and a favorite spot for nasty tiger sharks), was in the seventh set today.

Picture

OKEFENOKEE - Mark picked this tune about the Georgia/Florida swamp that's host to hundreds of scary critters, to pay tribute to Freddy Cannon in the eighth set.

Picture
THE CROCODILE SONG - Mark closed the show with this Janis Ian tune about...relationships.

THANKS to everyone who bid on Mark's memorabilia in the Julien's auction in November, and congratulations to the winners! We accidentally packed some acetates so they went to Hawaii instead of Julien's. We'll have Ryeland Allison transfer them after the holidays, so keep an eye on this website for news on their posting.
