SUMMER DAYS - Mark kicked off the show today with Bob Dylan. Above: how Bob spent the summer of 2026
THAT SUMMER PLACE - Mark played this Fountains of Wayne song in the first set.
I LIVE FOR THE SUN - Mark selected the Murry Wilson-managed Sunrays and their hit tune for Set 2. The Beach Boys might have fired Murry, but The Sunrays paid homage, as shown on the 45 sleeve above. Below is their 1966 appearance on Shivaree.
MEMPHIS SUN - Mark played Orion in set number 3, and told the bizarre story of his life, career, and murder. There's even an award-winning documentary about him!

|
SUNSHINE PSALM - Mark played the Cryan' Shames in Set 4. RIP to founding member Doug Fairs, who passed away this week.
RED RUBBER BALL - Mark played this Cyrkle hit, co-written by Paul Simon, in Set 5. Here's The Cyrkle, followed by Simon and Garfunkel performing it live.
SUNNY AFTERNOON - Mark's choose the Dino, Desi, and Billy cover of this Kinks hit for Set 6.
REMEMBER (WALKIN' IN THE SAND) - Mark played The Shangri-Las in the seventh set today.

HOT PANTS IN THE SUMMERTIME - Mark played this Dramatics song in the eighth set, and talked about David Bowie and Sammy Davis Junior getting in on the ladies' hot pants trend of 1971. Of course, they were both upstaged by Liberace!
ADIOS - Mark said good-bye to summer and closed the show with this Jimmy Webb tune, which was also covered by Glen Campbell on his final album.
THANKS to everyone who bid on Mark's memorabilia in the Julien's auction in November, and congratulations to the winners! We accidentally packed some acetates so they went to Hawaii instead of Julien's. We'll have Ryeland Allison transfer them after the holidays, so keep an eye on this website for news on their posting.
