MARK LINDSAY

When you flipped on the TV in the 60's, his face was on the screen before you knew it. If you tuned into the radio, it wasn't long before you heard his voice coming over the airwaves. If a concert tour was coming to your town, chances are that it included Paul Revere & the Raiders, the group which featured Mark Lindsay as co-founder, lead singer, and sax player. And if you picked up a teen magazine, it was only a question of how many pages were devoted to Mark's pictures and articles.

He was everywhere, it seemed, but as his publicist Derek Taylor (formerly of Beatles' employ) stated, "Mark Lindsay [was] the ultimate in the unattainable."

It's been 40 years since The Summer of Love, and one of the things we never could have imagined during those halcyon days was the extraordinary invention known as the internet, and the amazing communication opportunities that it could offer.

We hope you enjoy exploring the World of Mark Lindsay! If you're a very intrepid explorer, be sure to visit the Site Map of the World for even more adventures that aren't listed on the bar at the left.

Thanks for stopping by!

2007: What's Happening Now

Mark Today

Mark lives in Portland, Oregon, where he hosts a weekly show -- #1 in the latest ratings! -- on super-groovy K-Hits 106.7, on the FM radio band and streaming on the 'net, so you can hear him anywhere on the planet. He broadcasts the Saturday night show from a street-level studio -- dubbed the K-Hits Corner -- at his new restaurant, Mark Lindsay's Rock & Roll Cafe, in Portland's trendy Hollywood District at 42nd and NE Sandy Blvd.

Mark is so busy with these endeavors, and others (including making more music in his new recording studio), that he has hung up his rock and roll touring shoes.

Mark's always had a passion for exotic locales -- he lived on Maui for several years -- but now he has time to travel and see more of the world than just its airports, hotels, and venues! Over the past few years his adventures have taken him to England, Scotland, France, Monte Carlo, Spain, Andorra, Greece, Morocco, among other interesting places -- including a first-ever trip to Alaska. He's looking forward to another trip soon that will take him back to many of those places and add Italy and Croatia to the list.

Oregon Music Hall of Fame

Mark is honored to have been inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame on October 13, 2007.

New Download Center:

While we are still using Lulu for most of our available downloads (including video clips soon), we are now also using Sno-Cap because it allows integration on MySpace and other cool places. It's got a very user-friendly interface and you can easily hear a song clip by double-clicking on the title. Except for the ones from the "Mark in the Raw" series, they are available (with other tracks) on CD, just look in the Groovy Stuff - ML solo area.

Speaking of MySpace :

We were kind of late to the MySpace party but now see how cool it is to reach folks who hang out there and who are music fans. It's also a great place to showcase loads of photos and full songs...so if you get a chance, check it out! Mark's Official MySpace Page

The Guestbook :

We'd love it if you would leave a message for Mark on his guestbook...located at the bottom of his K-HITS page. Thanks! Mark's Guestbook
