"DEEP DIVE"

ATLANTIC CITY POP FESTIVAL - On this week's show Mark featured the American artists who performed at the festival from August 1-3, 1969
- or should have!

Picture

The festival was a success on every level - the crowd (finally estimated at 100,000 over the 3 days) was well-behaved, the artists were amazing, and the promoters made a profit. Yet, after it was over, the local authorities banned future festivals.

One thing the promoters didn't attempt was to record the concert. Thus, unlike Woodstock, only a few personal clips of the festival have ever surfaced.

The promoters hired water trucks to cool down the crowds

RAIDER SONGS - On today's show, Mark played three songs from the Raiders' 1969 Something Happening album. The album cover was one of two Raider albums pictured in Sharon Tate's home in Quentin Tarantino's movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood."
