This Week's
"DEEP DIVE"
WEATHER FORECASTING
Cold, hot, wet, or dry, your favorite prognosticator Mark Lindsay has got you covered!
RAIN SLEET SNOW - Mark started the show with a forecast of Rain, Sleet, Snow, from the Raiders' 1967 Christmas Present...and Past album, and told the story of going to a party with producer Terry Melcher at radio programmer Bill Drake's house...who did not get the "concept" of the album, and whose power convinced CBS to put the brakes on the single, and kill the promo on the album.
You can get a Christmas CD autographed to YOU - HERE
THE SUNRAYS - Mark started the first set with this Murry Wilson-managed band, and played I LIVE FOR THE SUN. According to bandmember Eddie Medora, "If we did not smile on stage we would either have to stand on our heads or pay a $100 fine, which would go into a fund for music accessories." Rather than risk the ire (and fines) of Murry, The Sunrays are showing you some big smiles in this clip from Shivaree!
CHESTERFIELD KINGS - Mark opened the fourth set with their SPANISH SUN, and told the story about doing a show (and its aftermath) with the guys in Leon, Spain. Here's some evidence!
COLD - The show ended with this track from Mark's 1996 Video Dreams album. Danny Federici from the E-Street Band appears on two of the songs on the project.
