This Week's
"DEEP DIVE"
CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
We're hangin' out in The Underground Garage this weekend, waiting to see what Santa might bring...
MACY'S WINDOW - Mark started the show with this song from the Raiders' 1967 A Christmas Present...and Past album. You can get it PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPHED to yourself (or a friend) HERE.
He talked about how Terry played piano and celeste on the song, and how they used echo on it so that it sounded like two celestes. If you've never seen one, here's what it looks like.

THIS DIAMOND RING - At the end of the first set, Mark played the Gary Lewis & The Playboys version of this song, and talked about how Al Kooper, who co-wrote the song, never cared for it, since he had envisioned it with a funky groove. He later cut the song for himself, and you can hear it below. We've also got the very first recording of the song by Sammy Ambrose. What's YOUR favorite?
PINK CADILLAC - Mark opened the third set with this "Elvis" tune, Doug Church's "KINGTINUED" project. Great feel to it! You can get the CD HERE.
THE LITTLE BOY THAT SANTA CLAUS FORGOT - The show ended with this track from Mark's 2002 TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS album of classic holiday tunes. You can get a CD PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPHED to YOU right HERE!
