"DEEP DIVE"
It's All About The Weather
It's sweltering, there are deluges...and this week, Mark will feature songs all about the thing we love to complain about the most!
RAIN, SLEET, SNOW - Mark opened the first set with the Raiders and this song from the cult classic 1967 Christmas album, A CHRISTMAS PRESENT...and PAST. This month, you can get a 3-piece package with that CD, Mark's solo traditional album 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, and a Photo Christmas Card, at a special combination price that includes a 20% donation to Maui relief. Available personally autographed to you...HERE.

GET OFF MY CLOUD - Mark closed the first set with one of Lucinda Williams' tributes to the Stones. The project was one of six tribute CDs she recorded at live streaming performances during the pandemic. The other five albums are tributes to Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Southern Soul, 60s Country Classics, and a Christmas CD.

HERE COMES THE SUN - Mark played the Richie Havens version of this Beatles' classic to close out the second set, and talked about appearing with him and Peter Noone, Robby Krieger, Spencer Davis, and John Sebastian on Married With Children's "Rock of Ages" episode. The "supergroup" (including new rock star Al "Axl" Bundy, sang "We Are The Old" for an "Old Aid Benefit"....here's the lyrics and a clip!
WE ARE THE OLD
We are the old
We've got arthritis
Our gums are weak
From gingivitus
We are the old
We've got arthritis
We are the one who wear bifocals
And have bursitus
There are people younger
But we need another call
We really need the money
Our accountants took it all
We sing to you
Those who have money
Once we was cool
But now we just dress funny
We need your help
So please, please dig deep
Don't call after ten
Cuz we'll be asleep
We have medicare
And anti-gas pills
But without your help
We can't pay our alimony bills
We are the old
We all have arthritis
Once we were boss
Now golf excites us
So write a check (a really big one)
For our December
There's one more verse
But we can't remember
