This Week's
"DEEP DIVE"
GIRL CRAZY
This weekend, Mark will feature
songs about his favorite subject....Girls.
The show is dedicated to the memory of Dwight Twilley,
who passed away this week, and Mark closes the show with his hit, "Girls."
GIRL WITH NO NAME - Mark started the first set with Steve Conte's new single, available HERE on Wicked Cool Records. Somehow he managed to avoid The Naked Cowboy while shooting part of the video on the streets of NYC!

DAWN - Mark closed the second set with this Four Seasons classic, and talked about Frankie Valli announcing his final tour in 2024 - closing out 70+ years of live performing at the age of 90-1/2. Trivia: Mark and Paul's secretary Bunny dated Frankie in the 70s.
Here's a clip of the song as performed in the 1965 movie Beach Ball...

VALLERI - Mark closed the third set with this Monkees' hit. He talked about how the song came to be written, and that there are two versions: the first one, one as performed on TV, and the second one, released as the single. On the second video, you're actually seeing the hands of Louie Shelton from the Wrecking Crew playing the flamenco licks.

RENO - Mark opened the fifth set with a song he wrote about supermodel Terry Reno, after they both stopped at the same light on Sunset Boulevard. It's from the Raiders' 1967 REVOLUTION album.
We have just a few copies left of the expanded European CD reissue (Mark limited it to 30 signed/numbered copies) - available HERE, personally autographed to you.
HEY GRANDMA - Mark closed the fifth set with one of the five Moby Grape singles that Columbia released on the same day. He's just finished reading Season of the Witch, which is a great cultural history of the San Francisco 60s scene and has a lot about its music, including stories about Moby Grape. The video below shows them performing it at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
