This Week's
"DEEP DIVE"
THANKSGIVING
This weekend, Mark continues the festivities with Gobble-to-Gobble goodies,
by playing two hours of music suitable for leftovers, shopping, and reflections on what happened at YOUR place on Thanksgiving Dat!
TURKEY TROT - Mark opened the show with The Dollyrots and their version of Little Eva's classic song. Be sure to catch lead singer Kelly Ogden on her daily show in Little Steven's Underground Garage!

THANK YOU - Mark played this Raider tune in the second set, written after a European promo tour. Yes, Caroline was a real person that Mark met in Paris. And....she introduced him to her friends at a small cafe, and Mark was perplexed when they all gave him accolades and patted him on the back. Not because he was a Raider, but because Caroline told them in French, which she later translated for Mark in English, "I plan to have your baby!"

WAITING ON A FRIEND - Mark played this version of the Stones' song by Flynsolo in the fifth set. One of the musicians who was involved was Mike Deasy, who was a friend of Terry Melcher's. Terry used Mike as one of many guitar players on the Raiders' Revolution album, and hired him as a "talent scout" for Columbia Records...which included auditioning Charles Manson at Spahn Ranch.

RAIN, SLEET, SNOW - Mark opened the sixth set with this song from the Raiders' cult classic album, A Christmas Present and Past...which is a combination Christmas and Vietnam War protest album. It's also on the Complete Columbia Singles set noted above, because it was going to be a single (but got pulled), abd it's available HERE, autographed to you.

THE TURKEY - Mark closed the show with this Raider tune, the B side of BIRDS OF A FEATHER. It's on the out-of-print Complete Columbia Singles 3-CD set, available personally autographed to you, right HERE.
