This Week's
"DEEP DIVE"
NOTES FROM THE WINDY CITY
This week we're traveling to Chicago, and Mark Lindsay will bring you
two hours of the best American music courtesy of the Windy City - music that was made there, played there, or from artists that were born there.
KICKS - Mark talked Chicago's McCormick Place, and a night-time visit from a girl who crawled in his hotel window (on the 20th floor). He opened the second set with the Raider song that was #1 in Chicago the week they played there in July 1966.
Enjoy this edited remix of the song!

SHINING STAR - Mark closed the fifth set with Earth, Wind, and Fire. Here they are performing the song LIVE on Midnight Special.

VEHICLE - Mark opened set 6 with the Ides of March. Here they are performing the song LIVE for PBS.

LAST TIME AROUND - Mark opened the seventh set with The Del-Vetts. The group later changed their name to The Pride and Joy, then recorded a Mann-Weil song called LONG WAY TO GO. An incomplete Raider version of the song still sits in the Columbia Records vaults.
