I LIVE FOR THE SUN - The first set opened with a cover of this Sunrays' hit, performed by Mark's late friend, Jeffrey Foskett. Jeffrey was the kindest human on the planet, and was also one of the most talented. He was Brian Wilson's musical director for many years and also recorded and toured with The Beach Boys. Mark met him in Hawaii when he was the MD for a series of concerts Mark did there in the 90s.

THE SUN AIN'T GONNA SHINE ANYMORE
- Mark opened the second set with The Explorers Club, a band that has backed him up on stage and added their harmonies to some of his latest recordings. More on the band HERE.

MOON DAWG - Mark opened set 5 with this early surf single written by his former Hollywood room mate, Derry Weaver, and told the story of how the Raiders' version came to be, courtesy of Derry. Compare the 2 versions - the Raiders' version is cued up, but you can listen to the whole Like Long Hair album. Who knew Sandy Nelson played on a Raider song?

CLOSE TO THE SUN - Mark closed out set 5 with The Grip Weeds, and mentioned that they'll be backing him on the 2025 Flower Power Cruise. Staterooms open to the general public on Thursday, April 11th, and the ship WILL sell out that day. Although there will be a waiting list to take the place of people whose plans change, it's a complicated and not always fruitful process to snag one of the cancellations. So....if you want to experience this AMAZING foray back to the Summer of Love on a full ship charter, get up early and book the trip! Details HERE.

ANDREA - Mark closed the last set with this hit by The Sunrays. Here they are performing it on American Bandstand. Their manager, Murry Wilson, threatened to fine them if they didn't smile a lot, and you can see how they tried to comply!

ON THE MOON - Mark debuted his new song on this week's show! You can find it on his website in the Downloads Collection HERE, and a sample is below on YouTube. (The entire song is 3:51)
